Mount Pleasant man accused of defrauding "Point One Recruiting," where he worked

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Mount Pleasant police say a 39-year-old man was arrested and charges have been submitted to the Racine County District Attorney's Office after the man allegedly defrauded a recruiting company.

On February 11th, police received a complaint of theft by an employee of "Point One Recruiting" on Corporate Drive in Mount Pleasant.

A subsequent investigation revealed the man was employed by the company as a recruiter -- responsible for the recruitment and placement of employees to companies that had retained Point One.

The suspect, on several occasions, had failed to report unsuccessful placements to the management staff at Point One.

The suspect then refunded the fee paid by the customer but kept the commission he received as though it was a successful placement.

Police say the man on at least six occasions, falsified documents to support that he had successfully placed employees with companies, in order to claim his commission.

These commissions totaled in excess of $40,000.

The suspect was arrested, and charges of theft from a business setting (greater than $10,000) have been submitted to the district attorney's office.
