Milwaukee woman arrested for OWI following crash in Village of Caledonia

CALEDONIA -- A Milwaukee woman was arrested for OWI early Friday morning, April 1st following a crash in the Village of Caledonia.

According to authorities, Caledonia police came upon a vehicle that had crashed into Sebastian's Restaurant shortly after 4:00 a.m.

Police say the vehicle was travelling east on 5 Mile Road and failed to stop, or even slow down at the intersection of 5 Mile Rd and Douglas Ave (STH 32). The vehicle proceeded into the restaurant.

The operator complained of injury to her left arm and left leg. She was transported by ambulance to Wheaten Franciscan Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Damage was done to the exterior and interior of the restaurant.  Officer’s noted the operator smelled of alcohol.

The operator was arrested for operating while under the influence, unreasonable and imprudent speed, failure to stop for stop sign and failure to maintain control.
