Planting can begin this week: Need a few tips for making it easy?

MILWAUKEE -- Good gardening starts with the soil -- everything depends on it. Get a soil test done every 3 – 5 years and add organic matter to improve the tilth every year.

Planting can begin this week if your soil isn’t too wet. Using a rotation plan to decide what goes where, there are over a dozen crops that can be sown with seeds right into the garden now. Need a few tips for making it easy?

Since tree buds are opening all around, fruit trees, raspberries, grapes and strawberries can be planted now. Not too high, not to low but just right is how we will plant a bed of new strawberries.
