Lake Express Ferry kicks off 13th season of service

MILWAUKEE -- The Lake Express Ferry is launching its 13th season of service, Friday, April 29, providing modern high-speed ferry service from Milwaukee to Muskegon, Michigan.

The four-engine powered, 148-ton, 248-passenger-carrying ferry takes only two and a half hours to cross the lake. The ferry can carry cars, motorcycles, bicycles and pets.

Several different price specials will feature cost-savings, including the popular Kids Ride Free promotion that allows kids aged between 5 and 17 can ride round-trip at no cost (normally $50) between June 15th and August 31st. Kids under the age of 5 always ride free.

Additionally, fares for motorcycles will be waived when accompanied by a paid adult passenger fare (savings of between $45 and $90) between April 29th and June 14th, as well as between Sept. 6th and Oct. 24th.

The high-speed ferry will provide service between Milwaukee and Muskegon, Mich. with four daily trips through June 14th and six daily trips from June 15th through September 5th. Service continues through October 24th with four daily trips.
