"Human Trafficking Task Force of Greater Milwaukee" hosts forum to raise awareness

MILWAUKEE -- A forum was held in Milwaukee on Thursday, April 28th to raise awareness of human trafficking.

Organizers focused on the impact human trafficking has on women and girls of color.

Participants included members of the "Human Trafficking Task Force" and an assistant United States attorney.

They said holding panel discussions like this can have a very real impact on reducing human trafficking.

"The more people that understand and have a definition and working knowledge of what's going on in our community, the more people that can look and notice what's happening, the more people that will be able to raise their heads and say no," Dana World-Patterson with the Human Trafficking Task Force said.

The Human Trafficking Task Force of Greater Milwaukee was formed back in 2008.
