"He was profusely bleeding:" One man shot at Wendy's restaurant located near 27th & Capitol



MILWAUKEE -- Police are investigating a shooting outside of a Wendy's restaurant located on N. 27th Street and Capitol Drive.

The shooting occurred Friday, April 29th shortly before 4:00 p.m.

Those inside the Wendy's say in a matter of seconds, things turned scary.

"I've never seen anything like this," said Yvette James, witness.

While Yvette James waited for food inside the Wendy's at 27th and Capitol, a man walked in.

"I just noticed the he was just profusely bleeding. Like oh my gosh," said James.

Moments before, gunshots rang out in the parking lot. A Wendy's employee tells FOX6, someone walked up to a car and opened fire.

"They were like somebody just got shot in the parking lot, it was him," said James.

James says the man walked out of the restaurant and back out to the parking lot.

"He started limping out of the store. It was a lady driving the car. He hopped into the passenger seat," said James.

The victim was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, police investigated the scene and circumstances surrounding the shooting.

It was a frightening moment for a restaurant those inside will not forget.

"I was absolutely scared," said James.

Police continue to seek a motive and a suspect in this incident.

No one else was injured in the shooting.
