RACINE — H&H Meats and Catering on Meachem Road near Taylor Avenue in Racine was damaged by fire early on Wednesday morning, May 4th.

According to the Racine Fire Department, after opening the George Town Market for business on Wednesday morning, an employee noticed smoke coming from the attached H&H Meats business.

911 was called, and firefighters noted smoke showing from the exterior of the building and a fire in the kitchen.

Smoke damage was noted throughout the building.

No one was hurt.

The owners/operators of the businesses are working with the Racine Health Department — with hopes of reopening later this week.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
