Police: 46-year-old Woman seriously injured in crash near 35th & Custer

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a traffic accident that occurred Wednesday night, May 4th. It happened shortly before 10 p.m. near 35th and Custer.

Police say a 2001 Hyundai traveling at a very high rate of speed northbound on N. 35th Street struck a 1999 GMC Jimmy that was westbound on W. Custer Avenue.

According to witnesses, the GMC initially stopped at the stop sign but pulled out in front of the Hyundai.



The driver and only occupant of the Hyundai, a 33-year-old man from Milwaukee suffered from what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. He was operating on a suspended driver’s license.

The driver and only occupant of the GMC, a 46-year-old woman also from Milwaukee suffered very serious injuries, she is currently being treated at a local hospital. She was operating on an expired learners permit.
