Kenosha Co.: 83-year-old man dies following two-vehicle crash near Hwys KR & 45

KENOSHA COUNTY -- The Kenosha County Sheriff's Department tells FOX6 News an 83-year-old man has died following a  "significant crash" near County Highway KR and Highway 45 near the Town of Paris/Town of Brighton.

The crash occurred Thursday, May 5th around 5:00 p.m.

According to the sheriff's department, the 83-year-old Union Grove man was traveling in a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta westbound on County Highway KR, when he failed to stop for the stop sign at Highway 45.

The Jetta was struck by a Buick Rainier, operated by a 31-year-old Union Grove woman, which had been northbound on Highway 45, with no stop sign.

Officials say the 83-year-old man was entrapped in his vehicle for a period of time and died at the scene.

The 31-year-old Union Grove woman also suffered significant injuries and was airlifted from the scene by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital.
