According to the criminal complaint, a friend of Pickett came to Menomonee Falls to him up on Tuesday, May 3rd. Pickett told police he got in his friend's vehicle to show off "his .38 Special revolver." But "as he was putting bullets inside the gun to show (his friend) how to load the gun, the gun went off and the bullet hit the dashboard of the vehicle.

Pickett's friend's three-year-old daughter was sitting in the backseat of the vehicle. But nobody was hurt by the gunfire.

The complaint indicates Pickett "took the gun and bullets over to a pine tree where he hid the gun and bullets with pine needles." He then planned on getting the gun and bullets after police left the area.

Officers recovered a .38 Special Taurus revolver, a box of 24 unspent cartridges and one fired .38 Special caliber cartridge.

If convicted on the charges, Pickett faces up to ten years in prison and $25,000 in fines for each count.
