Woman seriously injured after crash on I-43 at WIS 33 in Ozaukee County, driver arrested

OZAUKEE COUNTY -- Flight for Life was called out to the scene of a rollover accident on I-43 northbound at the Highway 33 exit in Ozaukee County Sunday night, May 15th.

Witnesses say a tire blew on the vehicle, causing the driver to lose control and enter the ditch, where the vehicle rolled several times, ejecting the passenger.

The passenger was taken by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital with serious injuries. The 34-year-old driver was taken by ambulance to Aurora Medical Center in Grafton.

The Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office says the driver was arrested for operating after suspension, causing great bodily harm.

All lanes were blocked in both directions on I-43 NB at WIS 33 until Flight for Life left the scene.

This incident remains under investigation by the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office.
