Police: One in custody after armed robbery at Glendale motel, subsequent pursuit

GLENDALE — One person was taken into custody early Tuesday morning, May 24th following an armed robbery and police pursuit.

It began just after 5 a.m. when the Glendale Police Department was called out to the Motel 6 on N. Port Washington Road for reports of an armed robbery.

According to police, the suspect implied he had a weapon and obtained an undetermined amount of money. Following the robbery, the suspect fled the scene southbound on N. Port Washington Road in a white vehicle.

An officer in a marked Glendale squad observed the vehicle southbound on N. Port Washington Road and attempted to stop it. Police say the vehicle fled from the officer and pursuit ensued.

The pursuit continued on southbound I-43 and ended in the area of 8th and Hadley, when the suspect fled on foot and was taken into custody a short time later.
