MILWAUKEE -- According to Milwaukee County Parks, this weekend is their official kick off to summer, and they have a plethora of fun activities starting Saturday, May 28th.

Summer may not officially start for three weeks, but don't tell that to the Milwaukee County Parks folks.

"This is the beginning," said Susie Devcich, Chief of Recreation and Development.

"Cool Waters" Family Aquatic Park

They're kicking off their summer push with the opening of "Cool Waters" Family Aquatic Park -- a place for all ages to beat the heat.

The water park sits just above Greenfield Park where many took advantage of the warm morning temperatures and went for a stroll on Saturday,

"Oh yeah, I ride my bike around here too a lot. There's a lot of nice trails around and everything like that," said Fred Tombari.

Tombari's favorite activity is hitting the golf course.

"Oh beautiful. The golf courses, they just redid the golf course over here -- it's great," said Tombari.

Now's the time to get out and do it, because this weekend it's free!

"It's good. I think it'll get more people out but I don't mind to pay either because it helps them keep up with the courses," said Jared Keeku, playing disc golf.

This weekend continues the Milwaukee county Parks Traveling Beer Garden and concert series.

"You could literally go to a different park almost every single night and listen to free music," said Devcich.

From Juneau Park to the Root River Parkway, there's a stein for everyone.

"Everybody looks forward to summer after a long cold winter in Wisconsin and in Milwaukee, summer starts and everyone wants to be outside. We're trying to make sure that we have something for everyone," Devcich said.

So take advantage this weekend, get outside and be active Milwaukee!
