And on Friday, May 13th, five ducklings were rescued by West Allis firefighters after they became trapped in a storm sewer near 67th and Lincoln. Those ducklings were placed near their mother, who was in the area. Two hours later, there were three ducklings in a storm sewer in the same location. Those ducklings were given by firefighters to a passerby to be taken to the Humane Society.

The fire department used a special duckling saving bucket, dubbed as the "Duck Saver 2000," designed by in-station personnel.

They're not ducklings, but on May 21st, drivers slowed down while on I-94 WB near 35th Street to allow a family of geese to cross safely.
