Mequon's all-new Cafe Hollander raises $35K during opening benefit weekend

MEQUON  -- The grand opening benefit weekend for the all-new Cafe Hollander located in Mequon raised over $35,000 benefiting great charities in our area.

Over the course of May 20-22, the Lowlands Group donated 100% of the food sales, and sales of select beers, to three local charities: Milwaukee Riverkeeper, the Ozaukee Interurban Trail and the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee.

"The weekend was a tremendous success. We had perfect weather and an amazing turnout, which benefited our fundraising ability tremendously," said Dan Herwig, director and marketing at Lowlands Group.

The Lowlands Group also raffled off a custom Hollander-Benelux Racing bike, which was donated by Fixation Bicycle Company -- all the proceeds benefiting the Wisconsin Bike Fed.

The charities selected for the event all have programs that focus on environmental stewardship, bicycling and children's needs.

In total, the Cafe Hollander's opening benefit weekend in Mequon raised $35,704.
