Update: Six-year-old girl dies after being pulled from Regner Park pond

WEST BEND -- The six-year-old girl who nearly drowned in a pond at Regner Park on Saturday, June 11th has died.

According to the West Bend Police Department, Swannie Her was celebrating a family member's birthday on Saturday, when a swimmer found her unresponsive in the water.

Police say the person who found Swannie in the water carried her to shore and called for help. That person was not a member of Swannie's family.

After Swannie was brought to shore, lifeguards immediately started CPR until first responders arrived.

Swannie was treated for drowning related symptoms at St. Joseph's Hospital and later on Saturday, she was transported to Children's Hospital in Wauwatosa. She had no visible injuries on her body.

West Bend Police Department say six-year-old Swannie Her was pronounced dead at Children's Hospital in Wauwatosa on Tuesday, June 14th.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing. At this time, police believe this was an "accidental drowning."
