WASHINGTON -- Senator Chris Murphy took to the Senate floor Wednesday morning to demand action on gun violence in the wake of the Orlando nightclub attack – and he says he won't stop until the Senate acts.

"I'm speaking on the Senate floor to honor the victims of the Orlando attack & demand the Senate address gun violence. #Enough," Sen. Murphy tweeted.

But this is no brief statement.

"I am prepared to stand on the Senate floor and talk about the need to prevent gun violence for as long as I can. I've had #Enough," he tweeted just after 11:30 a.m.

Sen. Murphy and Sen. Richard Blumenthal worked a "back and forth" style to continue holding the senate floor. More than three dozen other lawmakers took part as well, including two Republicans.

You can watch them here.

On Tuesday, Congressman Jim Himes protested in favor of stiffer gun control laws by walking out of the House chamber during a moment of silence for the victims of the nightclub shooting.

There is all the focus on gun control but what about the terrorist behind the gun…or the bomb? More has to be done to rid the US of these Muslim extremists that are continuing to infiltrate our country.

Everu day that is all you here is this gun killed this person or this that gun killed that person. I am so tired of hearing about guns killing people.guns don’t kill it’s the A-H behind the trigger. Why don’t we band cars they kill more people everyday .there is no need for a 30-40-50-or 60 round clips come on who hunts with a 60 round clip? Only a complete nut.

I can’t stand hearing this either. It’s the person holding the gun that makes the choice to kill or not to kill. The gun doesn’t make that decision. We do. Obama has failed as the president. He opens our borders and welcomes these people in who hate non-Muslims. In their bible it even says be kind and nice on the outside, but hate on the inside!!! We need to do something about this! Not the need for gun control! Idiot Liberals! They’re so brainwashed.

30,40,50,and 60 round mags, are fun why do we need cars to do 120mph or a 400 hp motor in a car or truck. Why do people need a 200 amp stereo. Why do we need 200 mph motorcycles. Why do people need to drive gas guzzler cars and trucks. Why do people need to smoke………It’s called freedom, we still do have some. And freedom comes at a price, a very high price. So don’t throw it away, once it is gone it is gone for good and we will be nothing more then slaves.
