Broadway star Lin-Manuel Miranda responds to creative “Hamilton-ization” of newscast scripts

MILWAUKEE — If you’re a viewer of FOX6 News, you may have been exposed to the hit musical “Hamilton” without even knowing it.

Over the last few weeks, FOX6’s Ted Perry and Alison Trouy, the producer of FOX6 News at 10, have worked snippets of lyrics from “Hamilton” into newscast scripts. It’s been subtle, but it’s been there.

Ted and Alison worked with video editor Anna Hull to piece together all of those news script parts — and form one long “Hamilton” tribute. Ted posted it to his Facebook fan page (below).

A day later, Lin-Manuel Miranda himself saw the video and posted the following on Facebook.

Miranda sent the same message to Twitter as well.
