Kenosha police: Shots fired during home invasion on 19th Avenue

KENOSHA -- Kenosha police are investigating an armed home invasion that took place on 19th Avenue Saturday morning, July 2nd.

The call to police came in shortly before 5:00 a.m.

According to police, several people, including children, were inside the home at the time of the incident.

Officials say a few shots were fired, but no one was injured.

Police tell us they are not aware of any property taken in the home invasion.

Authorities recovered evidence at the scene -- including a magazine for a .40 caliber Smith and Wesson pistol.

It is believed three suspects are responsible for the home invasion but the circumstances are being looked at as suspicious -- as the occupants of the home say they do not know why the suspects broke in.

Officials say the suspects made entry to both the upper and lower parts of the duplex.

Police believe drugs play a factor in this home invasion.

No other details have been released.
