Milwaukee police: Two arrested minutes after armed robbery on city's northwest side

MILWAUKEE -- A quick response by Milwaukee Police Department District Seven officers led to the arrest of two suspects, including a convicted felon, for a northwest side armed robbery.

Officers responded to the Walgreens near 76th Street and W. Capitol Drive around 9:10 p.m. on July 5th for a report of an armed robbery.

Police say a suspect walked into the store, pointed a gun at an employee, and demanded cash and cigarettes. The suspect then fled with another suspect in an Oldsmobile Intrigue.

That vehicle was located by District Seven officers less than 20 minutes later near39th and Hadley.

Both suspects, a 24-year-old man and a 36-year-old man, were taken into custody and the money and cigarettes were found inside the car.

The 36-year-old man is a convicted felon with a criminal record dating back to 1996.

MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days for charges
