Teenage boy accused in car dealership theft released from hospital

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Mount Pleasant police say the 13-year-old boy who was arrested on Monday, July 4th in connection with a burglary at a car dealership has been released from the hospital.

The boy suffered non-life threatening injuries after crashing a stolen gray Ford Transit van on the night of the burglary to the Porcaro Ford car dealership in Mount Pleasant.

Since being released from the hospital on Tuesday, July 5th, the boy was taken to a secure juvenile detention facility in Milwaukee. He awaits a court hearing in connection with a previous burglary and other felony charges that occurred in Milwaukee County.

In addition to the stolen Ford Transit, two additional new vehicles were stolen from this dealership on that evening by 4 additional juvenile suspects. The suspects who drove those vehicles off the lot were spotted by Mount Pleasant officers. However they were able to elude police upon fleeing officers on State Highway 20 in Mount Pleasant towards I-94. These two vehicles have not been recovered nor have the other suspects been identified. They are believed to be in the Milwaukee area.
