RACINE — Officials with the “RacineTMZ” Facebook page on Saturday afternoon, July 9th posted photos of a rescue that took place Saturday in the Racine Harbor.

According to the RacineTMZ officials, a family of six was on board the boat — three adults and three children.

The boat apparently suffered engine trouble, and waves pushed it onto the rocks along Pershing Drive.

Everyone on the boat was rescued, thanks to officials with the Racine Fire Department, Racine Police Department, Racine County Sheriff’s Office and several citizens.

As the photos below show, the boat would eventually sink below the water.

It remained tied to a boulder along Pershing Drive after this rescue.

It is not believed anyone was hurt in this incident.

This is not accurate. I was present the moment they arrived in the harbor and after the boat sank. They entered the harbor and began to sunbathe. They were surrounded by rock and ignored the wake that continued to push them closer to the dangerous rock until it was too late. The engine failed when it was no longer operative due to the gross amount of damage the engine and the boat endured. It was an act of ignorance that put children and many people in danger. I hope they receieved several citations for public endangerment, child endangerment and more.
