FOND DU LAC — Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue responded to a call for a gas leak on Monday morning, July 11th. This, after a construction crew apparently severed a four-inch gas line.

When emergency crews arrived on the scene, it was determined there was a large amount of natural gas leaking from the pipe.

With the assistance of Fond du Lac Police Department, Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue secured a safety perimeter and closed Scott Street from both sides of Industrial Parkway.  Alliant Energy responded to the scene and began efforts to shut down natural gas supply to the area of the leak.

The leak was shut down about an hour later.

There were no injuries.
