MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Bucks announced on Friday, July 22nd the completion of a project labor agreement between Mortenson Construction and local trade and union organizations governing the construction of the new arena in downtown Milwaukee.

The agreement outlines the so-called "rules of engagement" for all arena construction employees and their craftspeople throughout the expected two-year term of construction.

In a statement, Bucks President Peter Feigin said the following:

"The Bucks are proud to enlist local labor organizations to ensure that this historic project is built safely and efficiently by an incredibly skilled local workforce. This agreement is another important step forward in creating this world-class facility that will be a lasting symbol for the city and state, and an engine for economic growth throughout the region."

The new arena is scheduled to open in fall 2018. The 714,000 square foot arena will be home to Milwaukee Bucks basketball and other sports and entertainment events. The new arena was designed by Populous, Eppstein Uhen and HNTB, with Mortenson Construction leading the construction of the project.
