New trouble for Katt Williams: Comedian accused of punching woman at California restaurant

SHERMAN OAKS, California -- New trouble for comedian Katt Williams. TMZ is reporting Williams was arrested Sunday, July 24th for misdemeanor battery -- accused in an attack at a restaurant in Sherman Oaks, California.

According to TMZ, Williams was accused of punching an employee at the Sportsmen's Lodge restaurant.

It's unclear what started the fight, TMZ says, but officers noticed visible minor injuries on the woman. She requested Katt be arrested for battery.

Bail has been set at $20,000 in this case.

Back in February/March, Williams was arrested three times -- twice within a two-week period.

TMZ reported Williams was in trouble in March after a fight with a 17-year-old kid in Gainesville, Georgia. According to TMZ, the 17-year-old also had to turn himself in for disorderly conduct as a 17-year-old is considered an adult in Georgia.

Williams was accused of violating his probation in that case, after he was arrested twice within two weeks in Georgia.

In March, Hall County, Georgia, deputies executed a search warrant at Williams' residence northeast of Atlanta, in which they found "large quantities of marijuana along with several firearms inside the residence," a statement said.

This, during an investigation into allegations that Williams and "associates" kidnapped one of his bodyguards, identified as Corey Dixon, "after he did not engage in criminal activity as directed by Williams."

Dixon was assaulted with a baseball bat and choked by one of Williams' associates, as Williams threatened to kill him, police said.

Williams was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and false imprisonment, and was expected to face additional drugs and weapons charges after the search of his home.

Williams was arrested on February 29th after police were called to a pool supply store, where they found Williams lying on the ground outside.

He had his hands behind his back as though he was waiting and ready to be arrested, the Gainesville, Georgia, Police Department said. A store employee told police he and Williams had gotten into a verbal fight and that Williams threw something at him and punched him.

Williams was charged with battery, police said.
