Green Bay Packers Training Camp offers plenty for fans, especially the kids

GREEN BAY -- The Green Bay Packers announced on Monday, July 25th the activities available for fans to enjoy next to Ray Nitschke Field and in the Tundra Tailgate Zone during 2016 Packers Training Camp, presented by Bellin Health.

Everything kicks off on Tuesday, July 26th and include a host activities for fans to participate in while they watch practice.

The American Family Insurance DreamZone, an interactive area in the Tundra Tailgate Zone, will feature activities during the first week of training camp (July 26-Aug. 1), including skills challenges for kids and adults, face painting, photo card booth, a Lambeau Leap area, and a toddler station. Centered on the Packers tradition of players riding kids’ bikes to practice every day during training camp, American Family Insurance DreamDrive will again feature five custom, three-wheeler “Dream Cycle” bikes, which kids and Packers players can ride together.

    Other activities include sampling opportunities from the Wisconsin Cranberry Grower’s Association and opportunities to enter to win backyard and tailgate upgrades through ACE Hardware, both on July 30.

    The Lambeau Field Atrium also offers plenty to do and see during training camp, including the Packers Pro Shop, the Packers Hall of Fame and Lambeau Field Stadium Tours. The Atrium restaurant, 1919 Kitchen & Tap, will be open during training camp each day, beginning at 11 a.m.

    Visitors also can take advantage of the G-Line bus route, which offers free rides between Lambeau Field and downtown Green Bay every 30 minutes.

    This marks Green Bay's 71st training camp, a tradition that began in 1946 under Curly Lambeau. According to the Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau and a 2010 study by AECOM, training camp, along with Packers Family Night, presented by Bellin Health, will attract approximately 90,000 visitors from across the nation and as many as 20 foreign countries. With an economic total impact estimated at approximately $9 million, training camp is a financial boost to many area businesses.
