Pabst Blue Ribbon returning to Wisconsin State Fair for first time in 20 years!

MILWAUKEE -- Pabst Brewing Co. has announced that Pabst Blue Ribbon beer will be returning to the Wisconsin State Fair for the first time in 20 years, the Milwaukee Business Journal is reporting.

According to the Business Journal, in 1996, Pabst left the fair when its Milwaukee brewery closed.

Officials said Wednesday, August 3rd they've entered into a new agreement with the Wisconsin State Fair operator R.J. "Slim" McGinn to open a newly created area — a beer garden called "Slim's PBR Park."

Pabst Brewing is working to open a brewery and taproom in the redeveloped Brewery neighborhood, which was recently featured in a Milwaukee Business Journal cover story.

Eugene Kashper, Pabst Brewing Co. chairman, said the new brewery is expected to formally open in 2017.
