"The best place to play football:" In his own words, Brett Favre reflects on his career in Green Bay
CANTON, Ohio -- Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio on Saturday, August 6th -- and leading up to that ceremony, FOX6 News is taking a look back at Favre's career.
On Wednesday, August 3rd, we took a look back at Brett Favre -- in his own words, throughout his time in Green Bay -- including one of his first visits to Titletown. He talked about the weather and his new team.
"The weather, its awful. It's cold," Favre said.

"I get along with the front office here better. The coach is a lot better. It's a totally different coaching staff and I like it here," Favre said.
"Everything seems to be going fine football-wise. I don't know what to expect yet. I hope to be starting this year, but who knows. I like to just go out and do the best that I can and let somebody else make the decision for me," Favre said.
"I consider it a huge challenge to play every week and to play with pain, to play with an injury, it's just a bigger challenge -- one that I'm always up for," Favre said.
"There are several types of leaders. To me, the best leader is a guy that leads on the field by example -- not by talking but by his actions. A person that goes out and plays hard, plays hurt, does the things that you ask him to do is a leader. Guys follow people like that. They don't follow a guy who sits in the locker room and runs his mouth all the time and then goes out on the field and doesn't back it up," Favre said.
"I can't believe I made it this far playing at the level that I played at and to not miss a game -- I consider myself the luckiest guy, luckiest man in football," Favre said.

"I am what I am when I put on that uniform and go out on the field and play a certain way and everyone knows that and one thing is people really don't know what to expect and I don't either," Favre said.

"I've been fortunate in my career to achieve everything --Pro Bowls, MVPs, Super Bowl wins, lead the league in TD passes, stats and all that stuff -- but I did an interview with Terry Bradshaw and he said 'you know what? All that stuff is great,' but he says 'you know how many people ask me on the street about my completion percentage or how many yards I threw for none? How many people remember the Super Bowls I won?' I say that's a great point.' I've always believed that," Favre said.
"I'm not putting a time frame on how long I'd like to play. I'd love to win a Super Bowl. If I don't this year, I will be back next year. If I don't win it next year, I will be back until this old body will hold up but I'd like to win a couple and walk out on my own terms," Favre said.

"I know when I came in, not too many people knew who I was and I was unsure of what I was capable of doing but I was always confident. I always worked hard -- so I never felt like I got something for nothing. To me, it's not that I'm the most talented, the biggest, the strongest -- it's that my determination and confidence and hard work has matched anyone who's played this game," Favre said.

"All I can say is that I've been very fortunate to play on a team for a long time. I had a lot of success and I've had so much fun playing with just good guys and there's no better place to play football," Favre said.
