"What a lucky ride:" Kenny "Snake" Stabler to receive Gold Jacket alongside Brett Favre

CANTON, Ohio -- The Canton Memorial Civic Center is the place to be Thursday evening, August 4th as the Gold Jacket ceremony takes place. This year's Pro Football Hall of Fame inductees will receive the gold jacket they will wear for their inductions on Saturday night.

Along with Brett Favre is Kenny Stabler.

He's most known for his days with the Oakland Raiders, and like Favre he's a southern guy who took a while to win over all his football observers but very likable. He's not going in first ballot, but going in with Brett Favre and his longtime girlfriend, his life partner the last 20 years of his life, Kim Bush, is pretty happy to be representing the "Snake."

"Sometimes I pinch myself to think what a lucky ride I had shotgun with the Snake that's pretty fun stuff," said Kim Bush, Stabler's girlfriend.

The "Snake," like Favre, was a gambler on the field and personality everywhere.

"They were casual and laid back. They were I don't want to call them that's not the right term to use but they were simple men that loved the game they played. played it with great intensity and so good at it and loved what the game brought all the people together the family together the fans and I think off the field they were very similar. They really treasure their alone time with their families and as soon as the season was over for Kenny he was on the road in Oakland and drove to Alabama ready to get home and I know Brett was like that," said Bush.

Indeed, Brett Favre and Ken Stabler are two of a kind.
