"A fantastic thing:" Canton, Ohio celebrates big in friendly football town

CANTON, Ohio -- Just a block away from the stadium with grills going, and Packers banners flying, Canton, Ohio was doing its very best Green Bay impersonation Friday night, August 5th -- and it was by design.

"Projected 2.5-3 million people coming and all the amenities they're going to build around here, it's going to be a fantastic thing for the whole area," said Tim McCully, Canton business owner.

The Hall of Fame weekend isn't just about football anymore, it's about tourism, entertainment, and dollars.

FOX6's Ted Perry met up with three generations of men from Greenfield, who were working their way into the Tim McGraw concert.

A couple from Beaver Dam, were pleasantly surprised at how much Canton, caters to the fans.

Ted asked: "How important was it for you guys to make the trip from Beaver Dam, to come here?"

"He's been in our hearts forever," said the Packers fan.
