Drivers take note: Details on upcoming construction; best routes to enter the State Fair



MILWAUKEE -- Construction is picking up -- with changes coming to I-94 and the Zoo Interchange. Ryan Luck with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation joins FOX6 WakeUp to talk about everything that's going to impact your commute.

Quick reminder for State Fair:

A reminder that during the Fair, only right turns are permitted into and out of the fairgrounds, so you want to be sure to choose your best route to enter the clockwise traffic pattern.

I-94 East traffic should use 70th Street exit. turn left, north on 70th Street to O'Connor, left on O'Connor to 76th Street, left on 76th Street and continue clockwise around the fairgrounds to entrance of your choice.

I-94 West traffic should exit at 68th / 70th Street exit and proceed on O'Connor to 76th and get in the clockwise movement around the fairgrounds.

Traffic on I-41 South could also exit at Bluemound, East on Bluemound to 76th Street, right on 76th Street and continue clockwise around the fairgrounds to the entrance of your choice. or exit at 70th Street.

Wednesday, August 10: Overnight closure (11:50pm to 430am) for a West leg traffic switch. Slow down - be aware of shift to the right for 94 WB work zone traffic Thursday AM.

There will be a long term closure of the Zoo Interchange System Ramp from I-94 East to I-41 North beginning early morning on Monday, August 15 until late-Spring 2017. Motorists should utilize I-94 East to Highway 100, to Watertown Plank Road to I-41. I-94 East to 164 to Capitol Drive to I-41 or, if a Packer game is in your travel plans, consider exiting I-94 East at Highway 164 to Highway 60 to I-41.
