FAIRFAX, Va. — The mayor of a Virginia city has been arrested and charged with dealing methamphetamine.

A tip to police in late July prompted the investigation of 50-year-old Richard “Scott” Silverthorne, who is the Mayor of Fairfax.

“Based on information obtained during the investigation, a suspect was identified who was allegedly distributing methamphetamine through a website used to arrange for casual sexual encounters between men,” a Fairfax Police spokesman said. “An undercover detective created a profile on this website and within a few days, the suspect made contact through the website.”

During their online conversation, the suspect and undercover officer agreed to meet and exchange sex for drugs.

“The suspect arranged to bring methamphetamine along with other men to the engagement,” police said. “On Thursday, August 4, the Street Crimes Unit met the suspect at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Tysons Corner.”

Police identified the suspect as Silverthorne.

“Silverthorne provided methamphetamine to the undercover detectives and was subsequently arrested and charged with felony distribution of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia,” police said.

In addition to his role as Mayor of Fairfax, he is also a substitute teacher for the Fairfax County Public Schools.

Detectives also arrested Silverthorne’s alleged suppliers; 34-year-old Juan Jose Fernandez and 21-year-old Caustin Lee McLaughlin.

“Detectives would like to speak with anyone who may have related information regarding this investigation by calling 703-691-2131,” police said. “Callers who wish to remain anonymous may provide information through Crime Solvers electronically by visiting or by calling 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).

Any honest person that would make the mistake of running for a political office would not only them self, but have their entire family drug thru the mud by media sources such as Fox 6 that caters to all of the crooked people in office.
Who wants their spouse and children taunted and lied about by these crooks?
