Milwaukee police: 1 dead, 2 hurt following 3 separate shooting incidents

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating three separate shootings that occurred overnight Friday, August 5th into Saturday, August 6th.

According to police, the first shooting occurred near N. 64th and Hope Avenue around 9:45 p.m.

Authorities say two people were shooting at each other when a third person was struck by the gunfire.

A 22-year-old victim was transported to a hospital by an unknown person with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say they responded to a fatal shooting that took place near N. 29th and Vine Street around 11:15 p.m.

Several 911 calls were received indicating a man had been shot.

Upon arrival, officers found an unresponsive man. Life-saving measures were taken by the Milwaukee Police Department, but were unsuccessful.

The victim, identified by police as 52-year-old Frank Watts,  died at the scene.

The third shooting took place around 11:45 p.m., near N. 64th and Sheridan Avenue.

Police say two men, a 28 and 23-year-old, were involved in a dispute. At this time, both men began to shoot at each other.

Officials say the 28-year-old man suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital by the Milwaukee Fire Department.
