Head-on crash on WIS 164 at County Hwy E sends 3 to hospital

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- Washington County officials responded to a two-vehicle crash at Wisconsin Highway 164 and County Highway E near Slinger on Saturday, August 6th.

Both northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 164 were closed due to this crash.

Authorities say a northbound vehicle, operated by a 16-year-old Town of West Bend man, crossed over the center line directly into the path of a vehicle traveling southbound, operated by a 27-year-old Village of Mount Calvary man.

Officials say the 16-year-old operator, and his 13-year-old passenger, were transported by ambulance to St. Joseph's Hospital and were released with minor injuries.

The 27-year-old driver was transported via Flight for Life for his injuries.

Traffic was rerouted at the time following the crash for approximately an hour and a half.

Alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in this crash, but the investigation remains open.
