Franklin considers $26M plan to support Ballpark Commons development

FRANKLIN -- Franklin officials over the next month will consider a $26 million spending plan to support the Ballpark Commons development, which includes a minor league baseball stadium.

The money would come from property taxes generated by the envisioned development, which is valued at up to $120 million. It would be built on both sides of West Rawson Avenue at Loomis Road, around The Rock Sports Complex.

The project is being led by Mike Zimmerman, who developed The Rock Sports Complex on Rawson Avenue and would run a minor league baseball team that would play in the stadium. The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers baseball program also would play there.
