Milwaukee man drowns in Waupaca County river

WAUPACA COUNTY — A Milwaukee man has drowned in a Waupaca County river.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a possible drowning on the Little Wolf River Sunday shortly before 6 p.m. Deputies were told a man had fallen in the water and had not resurfaced. The man’s body was recovered by volunteers and fire department personnel a short distance from where he was last seen.

Waupaca County sheriff’s officials say 33-year-old Curtis Howell was pronounced dead at the scene.
