11-year-old girl in critical condition after being struck by hit-and-run driver

Bicyclist taken to Children's Hospital after crash near 27th and Burleigh

MILWAUKEE -- An 11-year-old girl was taken to Children's Hospital from the area of 27th and Burleigh after she was struck by a vehicle on Tuesday evening, August 23rd. We're told this was a car vs. bike accident.

It happened around 7:30 p.m.

The initial investigation reveals that the victim was crossing the street when she was struck by a vehicle. After hitting the 11-year-old, the vehicle fled from the scene.

The child was conveyed to the hospital. Her condition is critical.

Milwaukee police say they are seeking a known male suspect who is believed to have been the driver of the striking vehicle.
