2 teenagers, 1 who had a BB gun, quickly arrested after separate carjackings on city's south side

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police officers were able to quickly arrest two teenagers after two carjackings that happened Tuesday, August 23rd on the city's south side.

The first carjacking happened around 9:30 p.m. on August 23rd near Rosedale Avenue and S. Burrell Street.

Police say the two suspects approached the victim, a 37-year-old man, pointed a gun at him, and demanded his car. The victim complied and the suspects fled in the victim’s vehicle, a 2012 Honda CRV.

Around 20 minutes later, the same suspects approached a 20-year-old woman near Homer and S. Kinnickinnic Avenue. Police say the suspects demanded her car at gunpoint, a 2005 Ford Escape, and fled in that vehicle.

A short time later, officers saw the CRV and Escape parking near Lincoln and Burrell.

The driver of each vehicle got out of their respective cars and fled on foot.

Officers quickly caught up to them and both were taken into custody. The suspects arrested are a 15-year-old male and a 17-year-old male. The 15-year-old suspect was found with a BB gun.

MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days for charges.
