Packers beat 49ers; QB Aaron Rodgers throws TD in first preseason action

SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA -- Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers got his first taste of preseason football. He played the first 2 series against the San Francisco 49ers. Rodgers went 6 for 9, with a touchdown pass to Randall Cobb. Rodgers isn't expected to play again this preseason, as the Packers have just one game left at Kansas City on Thursday.
The Packers stayed perfect in the preseason with the win over the 49ers. San Francisco scored first, as Quinton Patton had the short score in the first quarter. Tied at 7 in the 3rd quarter, Joe Callahan hit Jared Abbrederis for the TD. Then in the 4th, running back Brandon Burks scored on a 19-yard run.
The Packers finish up the preseason schedule on Thursday, September 1 with a game in Kansas City to take on the Chiefs. Kickoff is at 7:00 PM.
