Two treated for smoke inhalation after Fond du Lac house fire

FOND DU LAC -- Two people were taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation after a house fire in the City of Fond du Lac early Saturday, August 27th.

Officials say the fire on E. 2nd St. broke out around 2:00 a.m. When crews arrived on the scene, they encountered heavy fire conditions in a second floor bedroom. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire but not before it caused  damage to the structure and its contents.



The Red Cross was called  to provide shelter assistance to the residents. Alliant Energy was called to the scene to secure gas and electrical service.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
