NFL clears Clay Matthews, Julius Peppers, Pittsburgh's James Harrison following investigation into PED allegations

GREEN BAY -- The NFL has cleared Packers players Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers, and Pittsburgh's James Harrison following an investigation into PED allegations, according to a statement posted at NFL.com.



NFL officials said Wednesday, August 31st it "found no credible evidence" that Matthews, Peppers and Harrison "were provided with or used substances prohibited under the NFL-NFLPA Policy on Performance-Enhancing Substances following a comprehensive investigation into allegations made in a documentary by Al-Jazeera America."

Matthews, Peppers and Harrison participated in interviews with NFL officials last week.

NFL officials said Wednesday: "Initiated in January, the investigation was led by the NFL's security and legal teams with support from expert consultants and other professionals. The investigation involved witness interviews, a review of relevant records and other materials, electronic research, and laboratory analysis and review."
