MILWAUKEE -- With the help of an alert neighbor, Milwaukee police officers quickly arrested four young suspects who were trying to break into a car on the east side.

The neighbor, who lives on the fourth floor, had a bird's eye view of the crime, and called 911.

"I heard the glass break. Meanwhile, while I`m watching them do it, I`m on the phone with 911," Lisa Collins said.

Officers responded to the area of Kane Place and Warren Avenue around 12:55 a.m. on September 6th to investigate an 'entry to autos' complaint.

Collins watched as four kids circled the parking lot at the Riverview Apartments. After a few unsuccessful attempts, she saw them walk up to her friend's 2015 Lincoln MKS.

"I came down, saw the damage, police came," Steve McCoy said.

The suspects were gone when McCoy got down to the parking lot at around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. It appears the kids first tried to get in through the door, and then the window.

"They found a crowbar," McCoy said.

McCoy said he's mad about the damage done to his vehicle, but he was even more upset when he learned the ages of the alleged suspects.

The suspects, arrested after initially fleeing the scene on foot are boys -- ages 16, 14, and 12.

"Oh wow. Yeah, 12 -- that`s ridiculous," McCoy said.

"School just started this week! So they`re going to school during the day and at night, they`re stealing cars?  Come on now!" Lisa Collins said.

McCoy said he's keeping a close eye on his vehicle, as he hopes for charges against the suspects in this case.

"They`ll probably just get a slap on the wrists and let back out to do it again. They should not go light on them.  At all," McCoy said.

The caller said she saw four teens trying to break into a 2015 Lincoln MKS. When officers arrived, the four suspects fled on foot but were quickly arrested.

MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office for potential charges in the coming days.

What delusional people…….do they really think the kids are in school during they day?!?! People need to understand that the ‘culture’/way of life in the inner city is nothing like what most people think of as ‘normal’. You can’t begin to address the problems until you understand that….(Tom Barrett being the most delusional of all!)

Don’t worry. They will receive a slap on the wrist and be back home in a few hours. Many schools have an attendance rate of 60% or lower. Where are the other 40%? Well, just watch the news and you will see. School means nothing to them. Education means nothing to them. They were taught this way of life by incompetent, absent parents. They were screwed as soon as they were born to their 12 or 14 year old moms. There are middle schoolers pregnant or already have children. What kind of parenting skills could they possibly have? The ones they learned from their 14 year old mother? Grandparents are left to care for these kids when often times they can barely care for themselves. Yeah, lock them up, lock them up. Where??? There is no place to put these juvenile offenders which is a huge reason they get a slap on the wrist or a GPS. Not to mention locking them up is a great way to teach them how to become better criminals. Perhaps start having them work at shelters or soup kitchens or abused women shelters as a condition of their probation or parole. Not only will they be doing something positive in the community, but they would receive some mentoring and counseling in the process. Try to help them see the suffering others go through and hopefully want to better themselves. I know many of you will call me ridiculous, but what we are doing isn’t working it’s time to get creative or watch the city go up in flames.

hmmmmm. I wonder what race these boys are??? If black lives matter why isn’t the BLM folks helping guide children in the right direction to go to school, get a job, and live a normal good life??? OH WAIT, that right, blacks are victims of the mean old po po and whitey is keeping them down……

why were these kids out at that time? the emergency curfew ended but the actual one is still in place. Should have been home sleeping, preparing for school. Fine whomever was supposed to be guardianship of the little criminals.
