Cudahy officials extinguish suspicious garbage can fire off Nicholson Avenue

CUDAHY — Cudahy officials responded to a fire that took place off S. Nicholson Avenue near Edgerton Avenue Friday evening, September 9th.

St. Francis Fire Department confirms firefighters responded to the scene around 6:30 p.m., to assist the Cudahy Fire Department.

Authorities say between 65-75 old plastic garbage cans located in a city-owned vacant field caught on fire and prompted the response from officials.

Cudahy officials say the fire was put out, and there were no reports of injuries.

Authorities believe this fire is suspicious, but the exact cause is being investigated by the Cudahy Police Department.
