Hundreds turn out to support Dryhootch 9/11 Salute to Service 5K

MILWAUKEE -- To commemorate the 15th anniversary of 9/11, Dryhootch, the Milwaukee Fire Department, and the Milwaukee Police Department teamed up for the Dryhootch 9/11 Salute to Service 5K.

Local military personnel, veterans, law enforcement and fire departments competed against each other for this joint FUNdraiser on Sunday, September 11th. The public was invited to run as well.

"This day, this 15th anniversary of September 11th, is a celebration of the lives that were lost; a celebration of all the good that was done," said Deputy Chief Aaron Lipski, Milwaukee Fire Department. "Also, it's a poignant reminder that that loss did occur and we must always remember that; we must honor that loss, honor that sacrifice that all those folks made."
