Greenfield boy awarded highest honor given out by the American Red Cross

MILWAUKEE -- A boy from Greenfield got some big time recognition on Tuesday, September 20th. He was honored for saving his brother's life.

11-year-old Abram Suminski was recognized by the American Red Cross and the City of Greenfield.

One year ago, he saved his brother (five-year-old Logan) who was choking on a piece of candy. After noticing Logan was turning purple, Abram jumped into action, performing the Heimlich Maneuver.

"I was nervous. But it's good that I was able to do it that quickly, otherwise he would've passed out," Abram said.

Abram was awarded the American Red Cross Certificate of Merit. It is the highest honor given out by the Red Cross.
