36-year-old man dies after he was shot on September 14th in Racine; no suspects in custody

RACINE — Racine police on Wednesday, September 21st announced a 36-year-old man shot on September 14th has passed away as a result of his injuries. This case is now being investigated as a homicide.

Police say no arrests have been made.

The shooting happened around 2:00 p.m. on September 14th near 16th and Holmes in Racine.

The victim, identified as Jose Torres, was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Racine police investigators are interested in any information that anyone may have about this crime. Any witnesses, or citizens with information, are urged to call the Racine Police Department Investigations Unit at (262) 635-7756.
