MILWAUKEE — Viewers of FOX6 News have been calling and messaging the newsroom about a strange green liquid that appears to be spilling into a Milwaukee waterway. Video of this scene has been shared by users on Facebook.

FOX6 News spoke with officials at the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) about what those people were seeing. Officials indicated the City of Wauwatosa has been┬ádoing some sewer testing this week. They say they used a green, non-toxic dye to test the sewers — to make sure they are not leaking. That dye empties from the storm sewers into the river.

Again, officials say the green dye is non-toxic.
