Holiday shoppers: Southridge, Premium Outlets will open on Thanksgiving Day

MILWAUKEE -- There has been a trend this year for some shopping centers to decide not to be open on Thanksgiving Day.

On Wednesday, the Milwaukee Business Journal reported that Bayshore Town Center and Brookfield Square both revealed that they would shut their doors this year on Thanksgiving, with Brookfield Square's parent company saying it decided to close so employees can spend the holiday with their families. The Mall of America in Minnesota also said it would close this year on the holiday.

On the flipside, Southridge Mall in Greendale, Pleasant Prairie Premium Outlets in Pleasant Prairie and Johnson Creek Premium Outlets in Johnson Creek plan to open on Thanksgiving Day for holiday shopping.

Johnson Creek Premium Outlets and Pleasant Prairie Premium Outlets will both open at 6:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving and will stay open until 2:00 a.m. They will then reopen at 6:00 a.m. on Black Friday.

Southridge Mall plans to open at 6:00 p.m. on November 24th until 1:00 a.m. It will reopen on November 25th and operate from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
