Drivers take note: Water St. bridge over Milwaukee River to close beginning Monday

Water Street Bridge

MILWAUKEE — The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works (DPW) announced on Friday, November 4th that the Water Street bridge over the Milwaukee River will close beginning Monday, November 7th. This is to allow for installation of an upgrade to the bridge’s center lock system.

The anticipated project completion date is December 16th — weather permitting.

The traveling public is advised to add extra travel time and follow detours entering and leaving the Historic Third Ward and the Fifth Ward/Walker’s Point.
