Aberg, Carrier guide Ads to win over Wild 5-3

MILWAUKEE -- Pontus Aberg and Alex Carrier both scored a pair of goals as the Admirals took out the Iowa Wild 5-3 on Saturday night at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.

It was the third straight win for Milwaukee, who improved to 6-2-0-1 on the season.

Aberg continued his hot play as he got the Ads off to a 1-0 lead with a PPG just 3:51 into the game. It was his third goal in as many games.

Iowa tied the game up Kurtis Gabriel shorthanded goal just over three minutes later.

The final three minutes of the period was an offensive outburst as the teams combined for three goals with Jack Dougherty and Alex Carrier each getting their first pro tallies for the Ads, who led 3-2 after 20 minutes of play.

The Wild tied the score at three on a Marc Hagel goal 7:19 into the second. However, Pontus Aberg would give the Ads the lead again when he fired a low wrister from the right face-off dot that snuck by Iowa goalie Alex Stalock.

Carrier finished off the scoring for Milwaukee on a power-play tally with just under four minutes to play.

Juuse Saros ran his record to 6-1 on the season with 28 saves.

The Ads are off until next Wednesday when they will host the Chicago Wolves at 10:30 am in the first of two school-day games at the Panther Arena.
